16
Q

17
Q

What is the rewind speed of the hose?

A

4ft/second

18
Q

How long does the breakaway light flash for?

A

10 seconds

19
Q

Temperature shown on the MFCD

TAT and SAT stand for…

A

Total air temperature

Static air temperature

20
Q

What length is the FRU considered “short hose”?

A

Less than 88 ft

21
Q

What is AAR silent?

vs silent procedures

A

Once receivers are moved astern, MSO calls continue on the lights.
Once they have disconnected, that’s the end of the AAR silent phase.
(Different from silent procedures which is zero R/T throughout)

22
Q

Where is the receiver clearance list found?

A

VOM B, 1.2.3

23
Q

MSO QRH has 3 emergencies which are not prompted by the WCAS. What are they?

A

Smoke and fumes
Ditching/forced landing
All engines failure

24
Q

After an electrical failure (eg lost a TR or Busbar) and all drills have been carried out, if it’s not clear whether AAR can be continued with the remaining systems, where is guidance for the MSO?

A

QRH, at the very end of emergency procedures section after the computer resets table. Note this is the last place to look as abort AAR / system inop may have been covered in the main QRH drill.

25
Q

If all the CCPs (communications control panel - radio boxes) fail, it goes (or has to be selected) to reversionary mode. Who gets which radio?

A

MSO box 1 (for boom)
Capt V/UHF 2
Co HF2
Spare seat HF1

26
Q

MCPD stands for…

A

Mission control Primary Display.

Big screen!!

27
Q

What rate does the trim tank transfer fuel forward?

A

Approx 150kg/min.

28
Q

What is the max tailwind for voyager takeoff?

A

10kts

29
Q

After a double ARC failure, (ARCs successfully reset) the MSO may still have PODS/FRU showing as inop. Why is this?

A

They may need to be reset (as part of QORN) to re establish coms with the ARCs.
Just turn off then on again to reset.

30
Q

What would you lose in the event of an Elec M1 Busbar failure?

A
LPOD
FRU
ARC 1
MIDS/MPS
Left side IR illuminators
AES fan 1
Secure Radios
And more!
31
Q

When in Man Tkr mode, what rules are in place re pump selection?

A

Do not arm pumps 1 and 4 together (both blue system)

32
Q

What happens when there is a 2t fuel imbalance between the inner fuel tanks?

A

ARCs try to balance by running 2 pumps in the higher tank.

Fuel page starts to flash - TBC

33
Q

What happens when there is a 3t fuel imbalance between the inner tanks?

A

The ARCs stop working
Triggers an ECAM - Fuel Lat Imbalance
Need To go into Man Tkr to continue.

34
Q

If you’ve lost an AAR pump in an inner tank and you go 2t out of balance, what would you expect to happen?

A

Get an Auto Tkr Fault.
The ARCs are trying to rebalance by selecting 2 pumps but if the one it’s trying to activate is U/S it’ll declare a fault.
Need to go to Man Tkr to continue.

35
Q

What is an ACO?

And an ATO?

A

ACO is the Air Coordination Order (who’s going to be where)

ATO is the Air Tasking Order. (What you’re going to be doing)

36
Q

When in Man Tkr mode, what are the restrictions on which pumps you can use?

A

Don’t use both pumps on blue system (1 and 4)
Only use 1 on the green system.
So if you use the lower pumps on the inners, you’ll be fine. (That’ll use pumps 4 and 5)
