when can we open cabin doors
The aircraft has come to a complete stop
The “seatbelt” signs have been switched off
Wait for the PA announcement by the FD
Confirmation, in the form of 2 knocks on the outside of the door, has been received indicating that equipment is in position.
Following the 2 knocks, CC has slowly counted to 10.
what steps to open cabin door
Assess outside conditions
Ensure the door is disarmed and the safety pin is installed.
Grasp the assist handle located on the door frame
Lift the door control handle fully up (the 2 upper latches disengage, and door
unlocks)
Push the door outwards then move it forwards, by using the assist handles until it locks in its fully opened position (an integrated damper limits the speed
of the door).
how to close a cabin door
Press the gust lock located on the support arm of the door Upon instructions from the CC, ground personnel help move the door
rearwards as the crew member uses the assist handle of the door When the door is in front of its frame, pull the door using the assist handle
then lower the door control handle Check that the door locking indicators, located on the upper part of the door,
indicate LOCKED.
In a emergency situation what mode must a cabin door be in, to activate the slide
a door must be armed to obtain the immediate and automatic inflation of the slide or slide-raft.
If the emergency lighting system (ELS) fails to activate automatically what do you do
Go to the FAP
Lift cover
Press the EMER button.

a specific checklist for “A” and “SUPP” positions is under other cabin jumpseats.
how many mask are in the flight deck
4 independent oxygen masks which are stowed adjacent to each seat in the flight deck.
They provide either a normal flow (a mixture of air and oxygen) or 100%
oxygen, on demand at all altitudes.
what are the 2 types of oxygen systems
a gaseous system for the FCM and a chemically generated system for the passengers and CC.
how long will oxygen flow
15 min
how to check for oxygen flow
an indicator on the mask tubing which is clear when there is no flow and green when the
generator provides oxygen.
how many oxygen masks are at each bank of seats
there is 1 oxygen mask for each passenger seat
here will always be 1 more for a total of 4 oxygen masks
how many oxygen masks in each lavatory
there a 2 oxygen masks in lavatory
how many oxygen masks at each jumpseat

if oxygen masks fall and generator is activated
Advise FCM
Relocated passengers, if possible
Attach the masks that fell with a single band of medical tape
Report in the CLG.
if generator has been activated there is no more available oxygen available for those banks of seats in case of a depressurization
where is the avionic hatch located
avionic hatch is located in the the flight deck, behind the PIC’s seat
who’s responsibility is it to verify the locations of shut valves
it is the reponsibility of CC to to verify the locations of the lavatory and galley water shut-off valves and to ensure that they are in the open position.
how do we know how much fresh water is on board
during pre-flight check on then FAP, by pressing the WATER key, it will display amount in potable water system
where is the water shut off valve in lavatory of A330-200
Compartment under the sink
A separate compartment between the toilet and the sink.
what steps are taken in case of leakage
Open the compartment Turn the shut-off valve to the closed position to cut off water supply
Move the water heater switch to the “OFF” position located under the sink.
The green light will then go off.
You are L2 & you can’t remember where you are for Boarding; what do you do?
You refer to the FA Pre-Flight Duties & Assignments in Aircraft Chapters
While in flight, a passenger tell you there is a leakage in then lavatory; what do you do?
- Open compartment
- Turn the shut-off valve to the CLOSED position to cut off water supply
- Move Water Heater switch to “OFF” position located UNDER the SINK (Separate compartment between the toilet & sink)
- Green Light will go off
You are doing your Pre-flight check & you don’t know where your Restraining Kit is; what do you do?
Look at Diagram plasticized Checklist Emergency Equipment Diagram
You are L3 on A330-200i, during ditching you need to BLOCK your EXIT & redirect passengers; however, EVACUATION is DELAYED; what do you do?
Assess OUTDOOR CONDITIONS
- Use SECONDARY Emergency Exit
- SECONDARY EXIT used because EVACUATION hindered
- INFLATE SLIDE
- Detach Mooring Line
- Use SLIDE as RAFT
CABIN Door needs to be REOPENED, what do you do?
Contact FCM
- CC & Ground Personnel must follow the DOOR OPENING PROCEDURE
You are L4A, what are your responsibilities during a DITCHING?
Form a HUMAN BARRIER
- Assist the FA assigned to OPEN a DOOR
On an A330-200 & A330-300 What are the Exits in the Event of a Landing Evacuation?
All 8 exits
- L1 & R1, L2 & R2, L3 & R3, L4 & R4
What is the EVACUATION Device on an A330-200i @ EXITS (L3/R3)
Single Lane Slide
How must CC use the EMERGENCY EXITS on an A330-200i during a DITCHING?
Exit is a SECONDARY with a SLIDE that can be detached and used as a Floatation device
When arming the EMERGENCY EXIT (L3/R3) on an A330-200i, where do you secure the SAFETY PIN?
In the hole located at the BOTTOM FWD side of the DOOR
