Q

How should the ethical issue of informed consent be solved

A

1) the aims and procedure of the study should be clear to all participants, especially children, vulnerable adults and prisoners.
2) if a researched cannot get informed consent before testing, they should get consent from the ethical committee at their place of work or, if there is not one, then they should ask their peers and colleagues for advice
3) people in public places cannot give informed consent so research should only be done where people would expect to be seen by strangers
4) participants shouldn’t be deceived unless it is essential to the research, extra ethical care is taken, and they are told the truth as soon as possible
