- Preferred ( people that completely agree and support)
- Negotiated ( who can partially agree but look at pros and cons)
- Oppositional ( do not agree at all and oppose)
What is functionalist?
The idea that everything is simply the way we see it the way people are reflected in the mirror nothing deeper

Is the idea that we are influenced by media

He criticised Capitalist systems which they called the ‘ culture industry ‘ for controlling media output.
What does the ‘ culture industry ‘ do in effect?
It distracts the ‘masses’ from forming political beliefs/ideas.
The popular culture maintains ‘social authority’ and promote social conformity.
What did Theodor W. Adorno say about capitalism?
False needs created and satisfied by the capitalist system which replace ‘true’ needs- freedom, full expression, creativity etc.
