A1S1: Moving In Flashcards
Dennis: What’s normal?
Probably Nazis. A lot of them are still trying to hide after the war.
Dennis: Not if he’s smart
That’s how it starts. They move into the neighborhood and they pull the young people in
Christina: Judith, you can’t make people be your best friend. Nor can you keep them from being friends with other people. He who has friends…..
….. Must show himself friendly.
Christina: What do you know?
Oh, great! Something worse than Nazis has moved next door
Judith: What’s that, Daddy?
A teenage boy!
Judith: Well, he can’t be that bad. He is the pastor’s nephew
Those are the worst kind
Christina: Well, Daddy, you’re the only man I need in my life.
That’s my girl
Eleanor: And we need to leave, too…. or are we going to be late for the meeting at the community center.
What meeting, Eleanor?
Eleanor: The Red Cross Meeting. Rev. Callahan asked the church to come out and support them. They are going to do some kind of fundraiser.
I think I will just stay here
Eleanor: I don’t think so young man and Elmer, don’t you think you should be a gentleman and drive us?
Okay, okay. Let me get my jacket and hat. (Mumbles) I don’t know why it has to be a mans responsibility to drive..
Eleanor: what’s that dear?
Nothing, dear. I will pull the car around. Come on Dennis. Looks like we lost this battle.
