Centile lines
Lines on graphs to show average measurements taking into account age and sex.
milestone
an ability achieved by most children by a certain age. It can involve physical, social, emotional, cognitive and communication skills like walking, sharing with others and recognising familiar sounds.
Development norms
A description of an average set of expectations with respect to a young childs development. For example, by a year old, they should be able to stand alone.
gross motor skills
larger movements that involves using larger muscle groups in the body that are required for mobility such as walking and crawling.

smaller movements that require more DEXTERITY and use smaller movements such as picking up a pencil.
