Eyelids are lined with a protective, thin mucous membrane. This also spreads to coat the anterior surface of the eyeball as well.
Conjunctiva
Sebaceous glands for the eyelashes.
Meibomian Glands
Tear gland, provides a constant source of cleaning and lubrication for the eye.
Lacrimal Gland
Process of producing tears.
Lacrimation
Attach the eyeball to the orbit and on impulse from the cranial nerves, move the eyes.
Extraocular muscles
Corners of the eyes. The Inner is termed medial. Outer is termed lateral.
Canthi
Where the upper and lower eyelids meet.
Palpebral fissure
The function of blinking.
Palpebration
Outer layer of the eye. Consists of the sclera and cornea.
Fibrous Tunic
Middle layer of the eye. Consists of the uvea which if made up of the choroid, ciliary body, and iris.
Vascular Tunic
The inner layer of the eye. Consists of the retina.
Nervous Tunic
The inner layer of the eye. Consists of the retina.
