Why must folic acid be given with MTX?
Its a folate antagonist (anti-folate)
by blocking conversion of dihydrofolate
SE of MTX
- mouth ulcers (stomatitis)

- binds to mu-opiod receptos (work like SNRI)
- INC seretonin + NA in the brain (seretonin syndrom)
