Peer reviewed scientific journal

For example, foreign language learning journals. Unlike magazines or newspapers, journals target an academic or technical audience, not general readers.
Scientific journal
An expert in a specific field who assesses the quality and merits of a research paper or article during the peer review process. Reviewers provide critical feedback, comments, and suggestions to help improve the manuscript.
Reviewer
The written document submitted by authors to a journal, containing the complete research paper or article, including text, figures, tables, and references.
Manuscript
The final stage of text, tables, and illustrations of a manuscript and includes proper formatting. What is submitted as camera ready is printed as it is with no revisions. The term was originally coined because the manuscript was sent to a printer to be photographed for offset printing.

Open access
A group of experts responsible for reviewing and ensuring that research involving human subjects or animals complies with ethical standards and guidelines.
Ethics committee
Informs about the average number of citations received per article published in the journal over a specified period. System of measurement used to determine the importance or influence of a scientific journal within its field.
Impact factor
The process of including a journal or publication in a recognized database or index, which increases its visibility and accessibility to researchers.
