What is a guard cell?
A pair of cells that helps to open and close the stoma.
What are mineral salts?
A compound containing an important element needed in health.
What is a palisade cell?
Tall cell in the leaf that contains many chloroplasts.
What are root hair cells?
Cells in plant roots with a large surface area to get water out of the ground quickly.
What is a stoma?
A tiny hole in the leaf in which the gases can diffuse in and out of the leaf.
What is wilting?
It is when a plant droops because it doesn’t get enough water.
What is a xylem tissue? What is it made up of?
It is a tube that carries water and dissolved mineral salts in a plant. It is found in stems and roots and is made up of xylem cells.
