Q

Explain the process of reproduction

A
  1. fertilisation
one sperm cell enters an ovum(egg cell)
two nuclei fuse to form a complete set of genes (fertilised egg cell)
  2. cell division
fertilised egg cell grows by spliting into 2,forming embryo. cells continue to divide to form a ball of cells, then into an organism

Q

punnet square?

A

model used to work out how likely is that certain combinations of alleles will be inherited

16
Q

how do non identical and identical twins form?

A

non-identical: 2 egg cells each fertilised by different sperm cells
identical: fertilised egg cell splits into 2
