Jacob’s first wife. Many of the stories about her center around her turbulent relationship with her sister, as they are both Jacob’s wives. Jacob clearly prefers Rachel, and God compensates Leah by making her fertile while Rachel remains barren.
Joseph
Jacob’s favorite among his twelve sons. His envious brothers sold him as a slave, but Jospeh rose to become prime minister of Egypt, where he was ultimately able to save his family from starvation
Jacob
The younger of Issac and Rebekah’s twin sons, he tricked his brother into giving him his inheritance and his father into giving him the firstborn’s blessing, thus becoming his heir. Through him God renewed the covenant with Abraham’s descendants.
Ishmael
Abraham’s son by Hagar, Sarah’s servant. The founder of the Arab tribes (1st son)
Issac
Abraham’s son that God promised to give him with his wife, Sarah; he became the father of Jacob
Hagar
She is introduced as an Egyptian slave woman who belongs to Abrams wife Sarai. Since Sarai is unable to conceive, she gives Hagar to Abram as a wife so that she may have children through Hagar
Eve
God create Eve from Adam’s rib to be a helper for him. God’s only instruction to Adam and Eve was to not eat from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. However, Eve was tempted by a serpent, ate the fruit from the tree, and gave some to Adam as well.
Esau
The elder of Issac and Rebekah’s twin sons. The ancestor of the Edomites. He gave up his birthright for a bowl of Jacob’s stew.
