England became a republic, he ruled for 11 years, he removed entertainment like football and the theatre because he was very religious

Cromwell ruled England for 11 years during it’s republic. He made new laws. He was a strict Puritan and removed leisurely activities like foot ball and the theatre

Died on 3rd September 1658 of illness
What was the restoration of the Monarch?
Cromwell died. He wanted his son Richard to be his successor. Parliament disagreed. Parliament decided to have Charles, Charles I’s son, to be the new monarch
