What happens to light when it hits an opaque material?
All light is absorbed and none passes through.
What happens to light when it hits a transparent material?
All light passes through.
What happens to light when it hits a translucent material?
Only some light passes through.
Name 3 sources of light.

What is the relationship between the angle of incidence and the angle of reflection?
They are the same.
What is the role of the cornea?
Refracts (bends) light on to the lens
What is the role of the lens?
Focuses light on to the retina
What is the role of the pupil?
Controls the amount of light entering the eye
What is the role of the retina?
Contains cells that are sensitive to colour.
What is the role of the optic nerve?
Carries impulses from the eye to the brain
What is the name of the glass triangle through which white light can be split?
Prism

How can you change the colour of light emitted from a light box?
Filter
Why do some objects appear black?
They absorb all the colours of the spectrum
Why do red objects appear red?
They reflect red light and absorb all other colours.
