MOA of retinoids
Retinoids work by promoting surface skins cells to turn over and die rapidly; making way for new cell growth underneath. Also anti-inflammatory actions
BPO and retinoids directions of use
Must apply separately; BPO in the morning and retinoid at bedtime
Medications to avoid during pregnancy
Retinoids, Tetracyclines (2,3 trimester), OC, spironolactones
Why are retinoids applied at bedtime?
To avoid photosensitivity
Counselling tip for BPO
Titration and it bleaches clothing, towels and bedding

Which retinoid is less irritating and photosensitizing than the rest?
