Prokaryotes vs Eukaryotes (where transcription and translation occur)

A

P: no nucleus so transcription and translation take place in the same cellular compartments, and translation is often coupled to transcription
E: the nucleus separates transcription (occurs in nucleus) from translation (cytoplasm). Direct coupling of these two processes is impossible
