The whole circuit stops working.

One half of the circuit would keep working while the other would stop.

A
Current.

Voltage.

Why do some cords have three plugs and not two?
A
Becuase if something goes wrong the cords with three plug points need to be ‘earthed’ so they don’t harm you.
