A

’ He walks the sidewalk and the thin tissue over violence’
- Metaphor for the thin barrier protecting people from violence
- Innocent thing as walking the side walk means something different in his eyes

- Has a meaning for him, he has survived the day
- He cant take the little things for granted because his job is so life threating

’ For twenty seconds while sail after sail. The tall fin slid away then the tail’
- The way he uses assonance makes it sound slower reflecting on how this experience made him reflect on himself and humanity

’ Swish up the dirt and, when it settles, a spring is all the clearer. I saw me, in one fling’
- His experience with the murky water reflects on it settling and having a clear mind.
