What were the differences in Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jefferson’s beliefs? Explain how their beliefs led to the establishment of political parties and how both men affected each party.
Jefferson and Madison argued a national bank would encourage unhealthy partnerships with government and wealthy business interests. Argued since it wasn’t in the Constitution it couldn't be created. The main differences were the government power, which was a strict government, and a social view. 2 examples of their disagreements were the national banks and interpretation of the constitution. Hamilton's economic plans included establishing a national bank to manage debt and promote industry, while Jefferson feared this would concentrate too much power in the federal government and preferred policies that supported the agricultural economy and decentralized power. Additionally, their views on democracy differed, with Hamilton distrusting the "common man" and believing in a strong elite leadership, whereas Jefferson had greater faith in the people's ability to govern themselves.
