7E1 amicar Flashcards
Atmosphere,
the whole mass of air that surrounds the earth
Altitude,
the vertical elevation of an object above a surface (such as sea level or land) of a planet or natural satellite.
Density
density, mass of a unit volume of a material substance.
Troposphere,
The lowest region of the atmosphere, bounded by the Earth beneath and the stratosphere above, with its upper boundary being the tropopause, about 10–18 km (6–11 miles) above the Earth’s surface.
Stratosphere,
The layer of the atmosphere approximately 31 miles above the surface of the Earth
Mesosphere,
The part of the earth’s atmosphere between the stratosphere and the thermosp here in which temperature decreases with altitude to the atmosphere’s absolute minimum.
Thermosphere,
protecting the Earth and making complete exploration of the space and making space communication possible.
Exosphere
from the top of the thermosphere to 6,200 miles (10,000 km ) above the earth.
Temperature,
the degree or intensity of heat present in a substance or object, especially as expressed according to a comparative scale and shown by a thermometer or perceived by touch.
Nitrogen,
a colorless odorless gaseous chemical element that makes up 78 percent of the atmosphere and forms a part of all living tissues.
Carbon Dioxide
A colorless, odorless gas that is present in the atmosphere and is formed when any fuel containing carbon is burned.
Oxygen,
a chemical element found in the air as a colorless odorless tasteless gas that is necessary for life
altitude,
the vertical elevation of an object above a surface (such as sea level or land) of a planet or natural satellite.
air pressure
the force exerted on a surface by the air above it as gravity pulls it to Earth.
concentration
close attention to or thought about a subject
condition,
something essential to the appearance or occurrence of something else
constant,
a specific number or a symbol that is assigned a fixed value.
continuous,
marked by uninterrupted extension in space, time, or sequence
composition,
takes several ideas and puts them in an order so readers can understand an idea or argument.
elevation,
the height to which something is elevated:
generate,
to bring into existence
hazard
an unavoidable danger or risk, even though often foreseeable
increase
to become progressively greater (as in size, amount, number, or intensity
influence,
to affect or change someone or something in an indirect but usually important way
, inhabitable,
unfit to live in; uninhabitable:
moderate,
avoiding extremes of behavior or expression
monitor
an electronic device with a screen used for display (as of television pictures or computer information
originate
the process of starting or developing something, or causing it to happen:
pollutant
a substance that is present in concentrations that may harm organisms (humans, plants and animals) or exceed an environmental quality standard.
property,
any item that a person or a business has legal title over.
radiation
energy that comes from a source and travels through space at the speed of light.
region
an administrative area, division, or district
relative,
a word referring grammatically to an antecedent
structure,
the action of building
uninhabitable,
unlivable, untenantable, unoccupiable, unusable, unfit to live in, habitable and inhabitable.
