Roll wings level
Increase thrust
Speedbrake retracted
Maintain configuration
If clean “FLAPS 1”
Control regained:
Adjust airspeed & thrust
Establish pitch attitude
Return to flight path
Re-engage A/P & A/T
Windshear Autopilot On
“Windshear TOGA”
Push TOGA
Verify TOGA mode
Verify GA thrust
Speedbrake retracted
Monitor Performance
Maintain configuration
Wings level
Monitor VS and airspeed
Don’t recover until clear of windshear
Windshear Autopilot Off

Disengage AP
Push TOGA
Max thrust
Disconnect AT
Wings level and pitch 15°
Speedbrakes retracted
Follow FD guidance

WS Indications = Unacceptable flt path deviations below 1000’ exceeding:
15KIAS
500fpm
5° pitch attitude
1 dot displacement from G/S
unusual thrust position for significant time period
Engine Surge/ Stall/ Limit Exceedance
A/T Arm Switch - confirm - OFF
Thrust Lever - confirm - retard until message blanks or at idle
Smoke / Fire / Fumes
Oxygen mask on - 100%
Establish crew and cabin communication
Lithium Battery
Transfer control if required
PA: “Backup to the flight deck. Backup to the flight deck”
Unreliable Airspeed
A/P - disconnect
A/T arm switches - OFF
FD’s - OFF
Flaps Extended
Pitch 10° nose up and set 85% N1
Flaps Up
Pitch 4° nose up and set 70% N1
Oceanic Diversion
Initiate applicable drills and time critical checklists
Declare emergency (COMM-ATC-EMER)
Get Clearance
If No Clearance
OCA
Turn 30° L/R and offset 5NM
CHINA
Turn 30° R and offset 5NM
RUSSIA
Turn 30° and offset 16.2NM
At 5NM Offset
Engine Out
Descend below FL290 +/- 500ft
180° turn or diversion
Call for Unnunnanciated Checklist - Oceanic Diversion
External lights ON
Advise ATC - 121.5 / 123.45 / CPDLC

Pitch to PLI/ stick shaker/ buffet if required

Clear of terrain - reduce pitch and accelerate

Stabilizer cutout switches (both) - CUTOUT
Do not exceed current airspeed
Engine Fire / Severe Damage Drill
A/T Arm Switch - confirm - OFF
Thrust Lever - confirm - IDLE
Fuel Control Switch - confirm - CUTOFF
Engine Fire Switch - confirm - PULL
If Fire
Discharge bottle
Start timer
“Fire Out” or “30 seconds up”
If FIRE ENG message stays shown
Discharge bottle 2
Dual Engine Failure / Stall
Fuel Control Switches (both) - CUTOFF then RUN
RAT Switch - Press and Hold for 1 sec
Engine Failure High Altitude / Driftdown
PF: Request Engine Out on CRZ page
PM: Select ENG OUT on ACT CRZ page

VNAV - Engaged
EO CRZ ALT - Set
“Execute”
Confirm MCT

Initiate turn if required

At altitude capture, slow to EO speed
Land at nearest suitable airport
Upset Recovery Nose High
Recognize and Confirm the situation
pitch 25° or bank > 45°
Nose Up Recovery
A/P - OFF
A/T - OFF
Nose Down Elevator
Trim as necessary
Reduce Thrust
Roll to obtain pitch down if required
At Level Horizon
Roll Wings Level
Check airspeed and adjust thrust
Establish pitch attitude
Upset Recovery Nose Low
Recognize and Confirm the Situation
pitch 10° nose down, bank > 45°, inappropriate airspeeds
Nose Low Recovery
A/P - disengage
A/T - disconnect
Recover from Stall, if required
Wings Level - Roll in shortest direction
Recover Level Flight
Pitch Nose Up
Trim as necessary
Adjust thrust and drag
