Fire Extinguisher (BCF 777)

A

P-F C
1.Lock pin has red plastic tie in place.
2. Pressure gauge indicator is in the green section.
3. Required number provided.
4. If the plastic tie is not red in colour this must be reported.

1.Remove from stowage unit and pull the lock pin from the lever and handle.
2. Hold upright, with the fingers under the handle and thumb on the lever.
3. Test the fir extinguisher by pressing the thumb down on the lever (this test requires only a short burst).
4. Stand back (approximately 2 meters) from the fire.
5. Aim the nozzle at the base of the fire and press downward on the lever.
6. Spray in a quick side to side movement across the base of the fire until the fire is out.

PBE (777, plastic seals)

P-F Check
1. Look through the windon and check PBE is inside.
2. Verify the replace by date has not expired.
3. Check the green plastic seals either side of the lid are intact. If not make a Cabin Log entry.
4. If both seals are broken open the lid, partially remove the PBE and check the humidity indicator which will be either blue or pink.
5. If the indicator is blue, it is serviceable.
6. If the indicator is pink, it is serviceable for up to 36 hours from the time of discovery after which it must be replaced.
7. Make a Cabin Log entry.
