A

Age: seb keratosis more common in elderly
nuber: more less likely to be nasty
symptoms? should it be removed
growth? rapid is always more worrying

What are seb. keratoses? (aka basal cell papilloma)

A

very common epidermal proliferation. raised rough surface can range from mm to cm. most are asymptomatic but can itch. more common after 40. look stuck on

A

gastric malignancy (sign of leser trelat)

What are the 3 main types of naevi?

A

junctional- proliferation at base of epidermis and flat

compound: epidermis and dermis, intermediate, junctional ones decrease with age and evolve to compound
intradermal: melanocytes entirely within the dermis. commonsest in adults. variable colour

Rare types of naevi?

A

Blue- deep pigmentation

halo naevus- loss of pigmentation around the mole, usually seen in young adults

congenital- mole since birth, ofren become thicker and hairt, not really at increased risk
