Experiencing full range of emotions, increase in complexity relating to expression of emotions, the development of self-concept and self-resilience
Social development
Increasing complexity of behaviour patterns used in relationships with other people
Fertilization
Fusing of the sperm and egg cell to form a zygote. Marks beginning of pregancy and germinal stage
Primary sex characteristics
body parts that are directly involved in reproduction, commonly referred to as genitals and organs of reproduction. Present at birth
Secondary sex characteristics
Changes during puberty that aren’t directly correlated to reproduction. Not present at birth
