antagonist
The opposing force that brings conflict to the protagonist
exposition
The first part of the plot, introduces you too the story.
inciting incident
The event that sets the story in motion. Makes the rest of the story possible.
Rising
Main part of the story. Moves the plot along. Where complications are.
climax
The most exiting or intense part of the story for the protagonist. The OMG. Usually a turning point.
falling action
Events that follow the climax and lead to the resolution . Conflicts begin moving forwards resolution.
resolution
The end of the story. Loose ends of the story are tied up. Remaining questions are answered. Conflicts are resolved.
foreshadow
hints or clues suggesting what could happen in a story.
cliffhanger
an ending to a section, character, or a book, leaving the reader wondering.
flashback
in interruption in the plot to recreate an incident from an earlier time.
suspense
the anxiety a reader feels about what may happen next in a story.
