Q

William Harvey’s theories on:
- blood flow

A

William Harvey is credited with the discovery of the circulation of the blood. He combined earlier discoveries with his own discoveries to produce an overall theory for blood flow in the body. He showed that blood flow was too fast for the body to be able to consume the blood. He proposed the idea that the blood must be recycled. Harvey showed that the arteries carry blood away from the heart and it returns through the veins. Harvey had predicted the use of capillaries as light microscopes had not been invented yet.
