a. A required fire alarm system is out of service or not functioning as designed
b. An alarm system fails or generates an excessive number of false alarm activations
For high rise buildings, the building owner or his/her representative shall:
a. Maintain an adequate fire watch on every occupied floor AND b. Notify all occupants that the alarm system is down OR
c. Evacuate the building until the system is repaired
For apartment buildings, the building owner or his/her representative shall:
a. Notify all occupants that the alarm system is down OR
b. Evacuate the building until the system is repaired
All individuals involved in a fire watch shall maintain a log of his/her activities on FIR 2520 0018 Fire Watch Notice/Check Sheet.
