what is a twin track tape recorder?

what is double tracking?
Where a sound is recorded onto one track and then another time on another
Done to strengthen sound and thicken texture
What is distortion?
Effect used to add warmth and thickness
50/60s musicians would physically damage equipment/turn up output levels to create the sound
What is a Hammond organ?
Electric organ
Used for church music originally but then in pop music
What is feedback?
Effect caused by inexperienced musicians
Amp sound reacts with pickup creating a squealing sound
(pickup - metal part on guitar)

electronic instrument controlled by a slider to make a ghostly noise

Keyboard where each key controls the playback of single pre recorded sounds
