What is etiology of miliary dermatitis?

(Cause of development)

A
  • Flea allergy dermatitis (FAD) - most common
  • Atopic dermatitis and food allergy (hypersensitivity dermatitis)
  • Ectoparasites - Cheyletiellosis, trombiculidiasis, pediculosis, notoedres, Otodectes.
  • Dermatophytosis and bacterial folliculitis - least common

Papulocrustous lesions of skin - widespread small crusty papules

A
  • Crusty papules on dorsal neck, trunk, ears and above tail (feel like small millet seeds) –> intense pruritus esp from lesions on neck
  • Perioral, periocular and periauricular erythema, crusting and self-induced alopecia always.
