A
Europeans arrive in Africa and attempt to capture Africans
- sometimes African slaves were sold into slavery
- once the slaves are gone they begun to capture those they originally befriended

What is imprisonment about
A
Once captured slaves traveled to the coast Africa
- there they were held in bondage
- sometimes would sit in these holding cells as long as 6 months

A
If newly captured slaves survived the first two phases they were loaded onto cargo ships
- very tight meant that slaves lie on their sides
- ship would make several stops along the way picking up cargo for several areas
