What is Lack of Privity?

A

A defense in product liability cases, alleging that no liability exists because NO CONTRACTUAL RELATIONSHIP EXISTS between the manufacturer or vendor and the injured party.
*Lack of privity can be a viable defense against third parties in a common law case of negligence or breach of contract.
