Led to out of town shopping centres and retail parks

Buying online meant less people go to shops

Underground opened in 1863 and by 1930 the network was established
Suburban workers could be in London in 30mins
Now people 50km away can be in London in 30mins
Regeneration
Rebuilding old areas by updating transport and commerce. Creates new services, jobs and housing
Rebranding
Improve the image to encourage people to go somewhere
Gentrification
Many high income earners now prefer to live closer to work for commute
Studentification
Where there are universities there are a large number of students needing housing and spending money in the neighbourhood
