Incorrect data source

A

Check the Input selection on monitor. Switch from HDMI, HDMI2, Computer 1, computer 2, ETC till you get to the correct one from the input button on the projector.
Image is dim check brightness controls. You may need to hit FN key and a function button with a monitor icon on your laptop to get picture to project from your projector.

Physical cabling issues

A

If image on screen is dead or not receiving signal from the computer check the cable from the back of the PC to the monitor, ensure it is tightly screwed into place and reset cables if needed. Ensure that the monitor is plugged into a functional power outlet and that brightness settings are high enough. Make sure signal is not being sent to external monitor. Connect display to computer to confirm it is a display issue.

Burned-out bulb

A

When projector have a dim image, it could be bulb going bad. All bulbs have stated lifetime that will give out. Toward end of lifetime the bulb will start to fade out.

Fuzzy image

A

Caused by lens being dirty or defective. Screen and project not being aligned properly. Lens cap is still on. Lens is out of focus. Adjusting resolution may help. Might need to update graphics driver software. Try downloading and installing latest BIOS for your system.

Display burn-in

A

Affects plasma and organic light emitting diode (OLED) displays. Occurs when images are left for extended periods of time on the screen. Software and utilities will have little affect if burn in is severe. Displays are most susceptible when new.

Flashing screen

A

When the image is flickering or flashing check cables to ensure they are seated properly. Try different cables if that doesn’t work. The problem could be with the monitor–Try switching the display. Confirm the display settings in the operating system–May not match the monitor.

Incorrect color display

A

When image display uses incorrect color patterns the root of the problem could depend on when condition presents itself. When screen goers bad when windows starts to load its usually an issue with the video card on an incorrect setting. Try updating driver if a new one is available. If problem occurs once you turn the system on its a hardware issue. Check monitor, cable, and card and replace each one with a known good piece until you isolate bad component.

Audio issues

  • Many monitors include speakers
    –No sound, low volume
  • Monitor may have audio controls
    –Check volume levels and mute status
  • Confirm audio input over HDMI, DisplayPort, or
    Thunderbolt
    –Check the HDMI audio output in the OS
  • The monitor may support other audio input interfaces
    –Check for audio jacks.

To change default sound playback device in windows 10, click start and then click settings (gear icon), click system, in the left menu click sound, under choose your output device select the audio device you want to use.

Intermittent projector shutdown

A

Overheating causes display probelsm and shutdowns. WHen overheating is cause you must find reason for overheating. Clean all dust out of the inside of the case and inspect the fans especially fan on video card if one is present. If problem has been occuring for a while it may be the video card is the issue. Try using a different video card. You may need to get a new video card.
