Q

Eysencks theory

A
  1. Introversion – extroversion.
Introvert = unsociable, quiet and reserved
    Extrovert= sociable, outgoing and active
  2. Stable – unstable.
Stable = calm, even tempered controlled, reliable , predictable
Unstable = unpredictable, aggressive, outburst, restless, touchy, moody

Q

What is the reticular activating system?

A

Affects the level of introversion/extroversion acts to either inhibit or excite brain activity order to maintain optimum levels of alertness. Extrovert need increased levels of stimulation to maintain optimum level of attention/brain functioning, create high levels of stimulation to balance out naturally low levels of arousal.
Introverts naturally high levels of citation not need external stimulation

Q

Social learning theory

A

All behaviour is learned from environmental experience.
Banduras
1. Observing and imitating significant others known as modelling
2. new behaviours acquired when endorse through social reinforcement

Q

A

Suggest behaviours predictable. Some evidence behaviour is in innate

Q

Weaknesses of trait theory

A

Doesn’t predict behaviour consistently. Discount social learning, identical twins brought up in different environments have different personalities.

Q

Strengths of social learning theory

A

Bobo, doll, experiment, support, idea, ad validity. Evidence suggest some aspects of personality learned by copying significant others.

Q

Weakness of social learning theory

A

To simplistic, not likely to just be our environment that determine personality. children brought up in the same way don’t display the same personality true we all would have the same personality as role model

16
Q

Strength of interactionist theory

A

More realistic takes into account, inherited and environmental traits. Explain why individual behaves differently in different situations.

17
Q

Weaknesses of interactionist theory

A

There is still proposes and nitrates must be present to be triggered by environment
