Q

campaign shift?

A

from democratic argument (that women should have equal rights) to practical advantage (of women being used to looking after households so suitable for dealing with domestic and family issues such as temperance)
Argument that women needed to influence laws to help with working conditions, to ban alcohol, to help with social reform, to be involved in matters to do with raising children.
Not based on ideas of natural justice or inequality
