What does the black dot in the red button in the upper left corner of a document screen tell me?
There are unsaved changes in the document.
You make changes to a non-apple document and you want to save the original and new versions. How do you do it?
Use the “Save As” command.
Are all documents and files saved in the same way?
No, Non-Apple Developers may have different saving methods than Apple applications.
You have saved a document. You make changes and want to save original version and changed version. How do you do it?
Save the second version with a different name and us “Save As” command.
How do you access Spotlight?
Click on magnifying glass in task bar of Menu.
What is the keyboard shortcut to open Spotlight?
Command - Space Bar
Will Spotlight search the Internet too?
Yes
How can you select, multiple, continuos documents in a file?
Select first document, then hold shift key and select last item in list.
How do you tag files with color symbols?
In finder window, go to “Action” menu
How do you remove tags?
In finder window, to “Action” menu, choose tag, and click on x that appears.
How do you create your own tags?
In a finder window, click on an item to highlight it, go to get info window. In the tag window, type in a new name for a tag.
Can a file have more than one tag?
Yes
What are zip files?
A file that contains multiple, condensed files. Used to send files by internet more efficiently. Also makes storage more efficient.
How do you make a zip file?
Choose items in finder window and go to either “Action” menu or file menu and choose or right click on file.
What is an “Object Placeholder” and how do you find it on a slide?
A box to add a title, table or image. They appear on Master Slides. Choose Master Slide most resembling slide you wan to create and add items in the placeholders. This will not change Master. However, you can edit Master.
