5 kingdoms of life Flashcards
Are plants autotrophs or heterotrophs
Autotrophs
What are autotrophs
Autotrophs are organism that make their own food through the process of photosynthesis.
What do plants cotain that fungi does not have
Chloroplast
What are responsible for photosynthesis
Chloroplast which contains chlorophyll
what role those photosynthesis play
Photosynthesis uses sunlight, carbon dioxide, and water to produce glucose and oxygen
Heterotrophs
Organism that cannot produce their own food.
What is respiration
biochemical process in which cells of organism obtain energy by combing oxygen and glucose.
Anaerobic
occurs without oxygen and much less frequently than aerobic respiration.
Aerobic
occurs in the presence of oxygen and in most cells most of the time.
Transpiration
the process of water through a plant and its evaporation from leaves, stems and flowers.
