5 - Intermediate - Scale Degrees and Triads Flashcards
The objective of "Scale Degrees and Triads" is to help you identify the type/quality of a triad (three note chord) as Major or minor. A Major triad (in root position) consists of a Root, Major 3 and Perfect 5. A minor triad (in root position) consists of a Root, minor 3 and Perfect 5. Major and minor triads are built on specific scale degrees of the Major and harmonic minor scales. Roman numerals are used to indicate Major (upper case) or minor (lower case).
