- specific architecture of landmarks can make places more recognisable and unique, which gives focus point for the community

- may want to help people impacted by changes in an area

What is rebranding?
About changing the brand or image of an area often through regeneration and reimaging
Why do places rebrand?
May be needed if an area has experienced decline and/ or has negative connotations attatched
