Ways to have a great composing career

A

1 Get a degree in music or a related entertainment field.
2 Becoming an expert at integrating technology with live musicians.
3 Make connections with directors and others in the film industry who may be able to offer
you work or know someone who can.
4 Move to Los Angeles
5 Have connections (sometimes a 30 years connection) and good relationships with Lead
Orchestrators, working composers and contractors.

1 Very good knowledge of the use of electronic music + EFX and excellent computer skills.
2 Being current with technology.
3 Learning how to create exceptional realistically sounding “demos”
4 Adaptability and speed of learning and willingness to learn new things, to adapt and to
acknowledge that what you think is correct, may not be.
5 Work on different types of films.
6 Know your “client” and his/her needs
7 Communication skills and Listening skills
8 Trust (you’ll never get hired unless the client trusts you).
9 Negotiation skills
10 Managing rejection
