What is humidex? (3)
- describes how hot, humid weather feels to average person
- combines temperature and humidity into one number to reflect preceived temperature
- better measure of how stifling air feels than either temperature or air alone
When is heat warning issued? (2)
- when 2 consecutive days of daytime maximum temp. are expected ot reach 31C + AND nighttime temp. are expected to fall to 20C +, or
- when 2 consecutive days of humidex values expected to reach 40C +
When is Extended Heat Warning issued? (2)
- when 3 or more consecutive days of daytime maximum temp. are expected ot reach 31C + AND nighttime temp. are expected to fall to 20C +, or
- when 3 or more consecutive days of humidex values expected to reach 40C +
When is Extreme Cold Warning issued?
when temperature or wind chill is expected to reach -30C for minimum 2 hours

- wind gusts of 90kmh +
2. hail of 2cm+, or heavy rainfall, as per rainfall criteria, excluding those for winter and during thaw.
