4th MONTHLY Flashcards
The production of a new organisms from parents
Reproduction
Two types of Production
•Sexual Production
•Asexual Production
Involved fusion of gametes, slower process and variation is present in the same species
Sexual Reproduction
The Reproductive happens without the fusion and gametes, faster process and no variation
Asexual Reproduction
Plants are grouped into two
Non-Vascular Plants (Bryophytes)
Vascular Plants (Tracheophytes)
Begints with zygote (A Fertilized Egg). It divides through mitosis and grow into a mature sporophyte
Diploid Phases
Starts with a porse, it divides by mitosis and grow into a mature gametophyte
Haploid Phases
Are simple plants without conducting systems for food and water
Non-Vascular Plants
Have plant vessels, xylem and Phloem, Xylem vessels transport water and nutrients, Phloem Transport Food
Vascular Plants
Spermatophytes can ve classified into two
Gymnosperm
Angiosperm
Are groups of seed producing plants gymnos (naked) sperma (seed). They develop on the surfaces of leaves of scales where they form cones
Gymnosperms
Produces flowers with very short steams, bearing a series of closely apaced leaf like structures modified to ficilicate pollination
Angiosperms
Biological process in which new individual organism or offspring are produced by their “parent”
Reproduction
Types of Animal Reproduction
Asexual Reproduction
Sexual Reproduction
Reproductive process that produces offspring that ate genetically identical to the parent
Asexual Reproduction
