Q

How is the Rinne’s test conducted?

A
  1. Place the butt of the vibrating tuning fork on the mastoid process of the subject and ascertain whether the tone can be heard.
  2. Instruct the subject to signal when the sound can no longer be heard. Immediately place the vibrating ends of the fork in front of the external meatus and ask the subject if he can hear it.
  3. Instruct the subject to obstruct the auditory meatus with finger tip and repeat the test on the same ear.
