MIDI
Used with electronic musical instruments which can be connected to computers.
MIDI Storing Sound
It stores sound as a series of event messages, each represent an event in a piece of music.

Event Messages Information
~ The duration of a note
~ Instrument which a note is played
~ How loud a note is (volume)
~ If note should be sustained
Advantages of MIDI
~ Easy manipulation of music without loss of clarity
~ Instruments which notes sound can be changed
~ Notes can be transposed
~ Duration of notes can be altered
~ Smaller in size than sampled audio files
~ Lossless no information lost
Disadvantages of MIDI
~Can’t be used for storing speech, less realistic sound than sampled
