4.5.3 - Forces and elasticity Flashcards

1
Q

What is Hooke’s Law?

3
Q

Describe the difference between elastic and inelastic deformation.

A

In elastic deformation, deformation is reversed when the force is removed (provided that the limit of proportionality is not exceeded).

In inelastic deformation, deformation is not fully reversed when the force is removed ; there is a permanent change.
