ST: PROVERBS GIVES GUIDANCE FOR A HAPPY LIFE

A

Joseph was raised in a God-fearing family, and he understood that sexual relations between people who are not husband and wife are wrong. “How could I commit this great badness and actually sin against God?” he asked. His conclusion was likely guided by knowledge of God’s standard for humans as expressed in Eden, that of monogamy. (Genesis 2:24) God’s people today can benefit from reflecting on the way Joseph reacted to that situation. In some areas, attitudes toward sexual relations are so casual that youngsters who refuse to get involved in immorality are derided by their peers. Extramarital relations among adults are common. Hence, Joseph’s story is a timely reminder for us. God’s standard still is that fornication and adultery are sins. (Hebrews 13:4) Many who have succumbed to pressure to engage in illicit sex agree that there is compelling reason not to do so. Among the undesired results may be a sense of degradation, a troubled conscience, jealousies, pregnancy, and sexually transmitted disease. Just as the Scriptures remind us, a person who practices fornication is “sinning against his own body.”—1 Corinthians 5:9-12 (vs 11 But now I am writing you to stop keeping company with anyone called a brother who is sexually immoral or a greedy person or an idolater or a reviler or a drunkard or an extortioner, not even eating with such a man
1 Cor.6:18 Flee from sexual immorality! Every other sin that a man may commit is outside his body, but whoever practices sexual immorality is sinning against his own body.
Proverbs 6:23-29, 32.

ST2.2 Article

A

CHRISTIANS love God, and they also fear him. To some, that might seem like a contradiction. However, we are not referring to the type of fear that terrifies you. We are going to discuss a special type of fear. People who have this type of fear are in awe of God and have sincere respect for him. They do not want to displease their heavenly Father because they do not want to harm their friendship with him.(Ps. 111:10 The fear of Jehovah is the beginning of wisdom. [Sin] All those observing his orders show good insight. [Taw] His praise endures forever.)
(Prov. 8:13 The fear of Jehovah means the hating of bad. I hate self-exaltation and pride and the evil way and perverse speech.)

17
Q

ST2.3 When it is difficult, what should you do?

18
Q

St2.4 What is the result when we follow J counsel

A

You will benefit
(Prov 3:5,6 Trust in Jehovah with all your heart, And do not rely on your own understanding. In all your ways take notice of him, And he will make your paths straight.)

19
Q

ST #3: You can gain everlasting life

A

by applying bible principles, you can gain everlasting life
(John 17:3 This means everlasting life, their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ.)

20
Q

St3.1 What is Jesus role in our future?

A

Jesus played central role in God’s arrangement for human’s to gain everlasting life. (John 3:16, 14:6)

21
Q

St 3.2 What do we need to do to gain life

A

we must exercise faith in Jesus (John 3:36)

22
Q

St3.2 article

A

First, view the ransom as God’s personal gift to you. The apostle Paul said: “I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and handed himself over for me.” (Gal. 2:20) When you exercise faith in Jesus, you firmly believe that the ransom applies to you, is the basis for forgiving your sins, offers you the hope of everlasting life, and is the greatest confirmation of God’s love for you. (Rom. 8:32, 38, 39; Eph. 1:7) This will strengthen you to keep negative feelings about yourself at bay.—2 Thess. 2:16, 17.

Second, draw close to Jehovah in prayer on the basis of Jesus’ sacrifice. Because of the ransom, we can pray to Jehovah “with freeness of speech, so that we may receive mercy and find undeserved kindness to help us at the right time.” (Heb. 4:15, 16; 10:19-22) Prayer strengthens our resolve to resist the temptation to sin.—Luke 22:40.

Third, obey Jesus. The apostle John wrote: “The one who exercises faith in the Son has everlasting life; the one who disobeys the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God remains upon him.” (John 3:36) Note that John contrasted exercising faith with being disobedient. Therefore, you exercise faith in Jesus when you obey him. You obey Jesus by following “the law of the Christ,” that is, all that he taught and commanded. (Gal. 6:2) You also obey Jesus by heeding the guidance he provides through “the faithful and discreet slave.” (Matt. 24:45) By obeying Jesus, you will have the strength to endure stormlike adversities.—Luke 6:47, 48.
