Light Dependent Reactions

A
  • Photolysis: light energy is used to split a water molecule into Oxygen, Hydrogen ions and electrons
  • leads to production of ATP
  • Oxygen is released as a waste product
  • Sunlight splits water into oxygen, hydrogen ions and electrons –> then used to create NADPH and ATP
