Sustainability
Meeting the needs of people today without compromising the ability for future generations to do the same
Economic Sustainability
The ability of people today to earn an income and use resources efficiently to earn an income without compromising the ability for future generations to do the same - allowing for economic growth over time
Innovation and diversity of industries
If countries are to be economically sustainable, they need a number of different industries being successful to allow for dips/troughs in certain areas.
Countries also need to be innovative with the creation of new jobs and industries that will create revenue now and into the future.
Employment
Countries have to have high employment rates so people can earn money and pay taxes which can be put towards the development of infrastructure and funding for social security systems, and need to earn an income to provide individual needs and stimulate the economy.
Economic Growth
The GNI per capita needs to continue to rise in line with inflation and increase costs of living into the future. This needs to be done in a way that doesn’t reduce the chances of the future generations achieving economic growth.
Trade
Countries need to have the ability to trade GNI per capita needs to continue to rise in line with inflation and increased costs of living into the future. This needs to be done in a way that doesn’t reduce the chances of future generations achieving economic growth
Social Sustainability
Individuals of today being able to access social resources in a equitable way that doesn’t compromise the ability for future generations to do the same.
Elimination of poverty and provision of social protection systems
Social protection systems provide support for vulnerable people who are unable to earn an income due to illness or unemployment. They assist in providing access to essential resources such as housing, food, and healthcare
Gender Equality
Women must be able to access the same opportunities as men in relation to education, employment, leadership, and decision making. This will result in more educated people working productively, stimulating the economy, being good for all dimensions of health and wellbeing for women
Digital technologies
Electronic tools, systems, devices and resources that generate, store or process data.These includes social media, online games and applications, multimedia, productivity applications,cloud computing, interoperable systems and mobile devices
World trade and tourism
The worldwide business that involves making and collecting payments for transactions in goods and services, and transporting them to interested markets.
