What are electrical synapses?

Direct electrical connection between cells. This makes it easy for the depolarization to go from one cell to the next cell.
- Done through gap junctions.

Question 2

Instead of direct contact with cells, what do chemical synapses do?

Answer 2

They release neurotransmitters. These neurotransmitters get released from one cell, go across to the next cell, hit the receptors which leads to some kind of effect.
- The pre-synaptic neuron releases the Neurotransmitter.
