Final Judgement
- Muslims believe in a day of Judgement
* People will either be rewarded or punished depending on whether or not their good deeds outweigh their bad.
Allah
- Muslims cannot accept that Jesus Christ is God.
- Allah is the name that Muslims gave to God.
- They have 99 beautiful names for God.
Angels
- The Qur’an itself is said to have been spoken to Muhammad by an Angel.
- Angels are ‘messengers of Allah’, made of light and completely obedient to God.
Prophets
- Allah chooses spokespeople everywhere to spread the message: ‘Allah is to be obeyed.’
- The Quran listed 25 Prophets e.g Moses.
Sacred Books
- God gave Moses the Taurah, David the Zabur and Jesus the Injil (Gospel).
- Sacred Books were used by God to communicate with people.
Eid ul-Fitr
Muslims gather together for prayer, communal meal, visit families/friends. Give and receive presents.
Eid ul-Adha
Celebrated Abraham submitting himself to Allah and his dream occurs during time of Hajj, when people circle the Ka’ba 7 times.
Al-Hijra
First day of the Islamic year. Remembers the Hira (Muhammad’s journey from Mecca to Medina.
Ashura
A day of fasting celebrating when Noah left the Ark and Moses saved the Israelites with help from Allah.
Milad un Nabi
Birthday of Muhammad, parents tell of his life to their kids.
Laitat Al Miraj
Holiday commemorate Muhammad’s night time journey from Mecca to Jerusalem, where he ascended into Heaven.
Lailatul-Qadr
The night of power, remembers the Qur’an being revealed to Muhammad.
